Senior Project Manager

About the role | He Aha Te Tūranga

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract as the Senior Project Manager.

In this role you are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of strategic and operational projects that support nib NZ’s priorities. Partnering closely with business and technology teams, you’ll translate programme objectives into clear, executable plans and lead delivery across cross-functional workstreams.

You’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed outcomes, while managing governance, risk, financials and change in line with enterprise frameworks.

Acting as the central coordination point across business and technology, you’ll foster collaboration, remove delivery roadblocks and drive accountability to achieve successful, sustainable outcomes.

About you | Ko Wai Koe

You bring extensive experience delivering complex projects or programmes end-to-end within corporate environments, ideally operating within matrix structures where influencing across teams is key to success.

With solid experience in project governance, you’re confident managing risks, issues and reporting, ensuring transparency and control throughout the project lifecycle.

You have demonstrated success leading change initiatives, with the ability to guide teams through ambiguity and embed sustainable business outcomes.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience working across cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholders

  • Experience working within structured project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall or hybrid)

  • Strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to agreed scope/quality outcomes

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budget management and forecasting

  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders

  • Formal project management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile/Scrum certification)

  • Demonstrated understanding of change management principles and frameworks

  • Experience in financial services, insurance or regulated environments (desired)

  • Experience delivering technology or digital transformation initiatives (desired)
