Role Overview
We are seeking highly capable Project Manager to lead a strategically critical, Tier 1 initiatives end-to-end within one of our high profile Markets Program.
About the Program
The Program is a key platform evolution initiative aimed at modernising ASX’s clearing and risk systems. This program will strengthen platform resilience and sustainability, enhance customer experience, and support future business growth.
Key purpose of the role:
This role will be responsible for leading a delivery team and determining and managing day to day project activities, issues, risks, and action items, including change management and stakeholder management skills to successfully deliver an end-to-end solutions for ASX and its customers.
Your responsibilities
- You are a practitioner/team member of the Project Management Capability Community of Practice (CoP).
- Leads and delivers program/project experience specialising in delivery of financial risk initiatives, to actively plan and manage the end-to-end delivery of complex projects.
- Work closely with the program owner and key stakeholders to formulate business cases to obtain funding approval for project initiatives and requirements.
- Lead development and implement both predictive and adaptive project management plans to ensure the success of the project.
- Manage the delivery of required technical and non-technical components including oversight and alignment of external components and necessary change management activities to ensure smooth project release and transition to BAU and the target operating model.
- Lead Project budgets and ongoing financial forecasts, risk, issue, resource planning and reporting; ensuring alignment with and adoption of governance and execution standards defined by the Delivery Centre of Excellence and EPMO.
- In conjunction with the Owner, drive program/project governance (including strategic guidance group, joint steering committees and working groups) and interface with portfolio governance groups, vendors, delivery managers and other internal stakeholders with executive level standards of language.
- Prepare project updates, program / project performance metrics and reporting for Board, C-Suite and Regulatory audiences.
- Leads interviewing and hiring process in assigned areas and provides relevant input into performance evaluations.
- Use your leadership and soft-skills to drive strong engagement of a broad set of stakeholders, develop high-performing cross-functional teams and achieve a ‘one team’ culture that empowers and embeds accountability
- Being an active member of the PM Community of Practice (CoP).
Your experience and qualifications
Must have
- A sound understanding of, and practical experience within financial markets, and if that is around Clearing and Risk - even better!
- Successfully delivered large complex financial projects initiatives spanning technology and business, with inter-dependencies across other projects/delivery teams.
- Successfully driven solutions and accountability across teams in a hybrid / agile environment and across multiple key vendors.
- Proven strong communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills that show you are able to collaborate and build trusted relationships with stakeholders and vendors across all levels.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with both individuals and executive level steering groups.
- Worked both independently and as part of a team, with effective problem solving skills and a good eye for detail.
- Demonstrated self-awareness, emotional intelligence and a willingness to continuously improve both yourself and your teams
Nice to have
- Tertiary education or other relevant industry certification.
- Experience managing the delivery of regulatory model accreditation projects.
- Be comfortable working within a matrix structure.
- Worked on Agile, Lean and Waterfall projects.
