Position Summary
Deriva Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to serve as the single point of accountability for the management of all phases of project planning and execution across the company's wind, solar, and battery energy storage (BESS) portfolio. This role is based at the company's headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This senior-level role carries full ownership of project success factors, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration, from development handoff through commercial operation. The Senior Project Manager is deeply involved in project funding management and budgeting and will lead cross-functional project teams that may include project controls staff, construction management, engineering, administrative support, and contingent workers.
This position is located at Deriva Energy Headquarters located in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities
Serve as the single point of accountability for assigned projects, leading all phases from pre-construction through commercial operation
Develop and maintain comprehensive project execution plans encompassing scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and communications
Own project budgets and forecasts; manage funding draws, cash flow projections, change orders, and variance reporting
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; escalate issues with recommended solutions to senior leadership
Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams
Serve as the lead point of contact with EPC contractors, OEMs, and key suppliers during project execution
Collaborate with development, engineering, procurement, legal, and finance to ensure seamless project transitions and execution
Prepare and deliver regular project status reports, executive dashboards, and board-level updates
Ensure all project deliverables meet Deriva's standards for safety, quality, environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business administration or a related field
In addition to a bachelor’s degree, Six (6) years or more of relevant experience with 1 year of direct reports
In lieu of Bachelor's degree, High School/GED and 10 years’ experience
Desired Qualifications
Ten (10) years of project management experience
Master’s degree in engineering, business administration or a related field
Proficient to demonstrate expertise in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving
Renewable energy experience
Project related work experience, risk management, project leadership, strong collaboration, and oversight
Strong technical experience in renewable energy power plants
Construction Management knowledge
Proficient to Expert in project related scheduling, cost controls
PMP Certification, CAPM, or PE
Working Conditions
This position is based in Charlotte, NC.
