Senior Project Manager
- Manage technology innovation projects end-to-end, from initial scoping and business case development through implementation, validation, and handover to operations.
- Lead larger transformation initiatives such as replacement of legacy platforms, digitization of laboratory workflows, and rollout of new operational tools.
- Own and drive workstreams for specific products and capabilities, such as Digital Data Sheets for Follow-Up Services and other digitization deliverables.
- Act as the interface between business stakeholders (lab operations, field engineering, compliance) and the Magnesis software development team for demand management and prioritization.
- Facilitate agile scrum processes including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release coordination with the development team.
- Perform business analysis to understand operational needs, document requirements, and translate them into actionable development demands.
- Coordinate across multiple teams, regions, and stakeholders to align timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Track project progress, manage risks and issues, and report status to management and stakeholders.
- Support change management activities to ensure adoption of new tools and processes in operations.
- Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.
- Performs other duties as directed.
- Plan, execute, and deliver technology innovation projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate work across software development, data science, operations, and engineering stakeholders.
- Manage the demand pipeline for the Magnesis platform -- collecting, evaluating, prioritizing, and scheduling incoming requests from business units.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives) and ensure the development team has clear, well-defined work items.
- Conduct business analysis: gather and document requirements, map current-state processes, define target-state workflows, and identify gaps.
- Own specific product workstreams and drive them from requirements through development, testing, deployment, and user acceptance.
- Maintain project documentation including project plans, status reports, risk registers, and decision logs.
- Identify and escalate risks, blockers, and dependencies proactively.
- Support stakeholder communication and alignment across regions and functions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project management and demand management practices within the team.
- Minimum of bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing technology or IT projects, ideally in an industrial, laboratory, or operations environment.
- Solid understanding of both classic (waterfall) project management and agile (Scrum/Kanban) methodologies.
- Experience in business analysis -requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder workshops.
- Experience working with software development teams and understanding of the software delivery lifecycle.
- Familiarity with demand management and backlog prioritization in an agile context.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, MS Project, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams.
- Excellent communication skills - able to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Experience with digitization or automation initiatives is a plus.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or Product Owner certification is a plus.
- Ability to work in a global, multidisciplinary team across time zones.
- ISO 17025 / 17021 and ISO 17065 as well as TIC Industry Experience is a plus
