The Senior Purchasing Manager leads purchasing operations across the United States and Mexico, executing global sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving procurement excellence. This role provides strategic and disciplinary leadership to Buyers and Purchasing professionals while partnering with Sales, Business Administration, Quality, the Supplier Development Group (SDG), and People & Culture to align procurement with business objectives, customer commitments, and global sourcing initiatives.

Sourcing and Supplier Management

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for electronic components across Franchise Distributors, Manufacturer Direct relationships, Channel Partners, and alternative supply sources.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing structures, payment terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing supplier relationships while qualifying new suppliers to support evolving business needs; partner with SDG to ensure designated suppliers are actively utilized by all Buyers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions to improve service, quality, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to address allocation challenges, geopolitical risks, and changing market conditions; support escalation management during critical shortages and supply interruptions.

Procurement Operations

  • Direct and oversee the Purchasing Department across the USA and Mexico to ensure quality, compliance, schedule, and budget requirements are consistently met.
  • Ensure Sales Order and Purchase Order management processes are executed efficiently and accurately.
  • Manage and continuously improve corporate purchasing policies, procedures, and controls in accordance with company standards and Quality Safety Management System requirements.
  • Drive process standardization and operational excellence across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Establish, monitor, and report procurement KPIs to identify efficiency gains, cost savings, and process improvement opportunities.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Provide strategic direction, coaching, and disciplinary leadership to Buyers, Purchasing Managers, and procurement teams; build a high-performing culture focused on accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with People & Culture on performance evaluations, recruitment, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership by providing procurement insights, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations.
  • Facilitate effective communication between regional teams, global stakeholders, and cross-functional partners including Sales, Business Administration, Quality, and Operations.

Your qualifications, your influence:

To be successful in the role, you must possess the following skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related discipline; equivalent combinations of post-secondary education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience, including leadership responsibility within a global environment.
  • Fluent English; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive sourcing experience within the electronics industry, including integrated circuits, passives, memory, CPUs, and other electronic components.
  • Proven experience developing and executing sourcing strategies across Franchise Distributors, Manufacturer Direct suppliers, Channel Partners, and independent supply channels.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor market dynamics, including allocation trends, lead-time fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Demonstrated success leading procurement teams across multiple geographic regions, preferably USA and Mexico.
  • Strong background in supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, procurement tools, and data analytics.
  • Experience managing procurement risks, allocation challenges, and supply continuity initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and regulated operational environments.
