Senior Python developer

Our stack: Python 3.12 (asyncio, FastAPI, Django), Docker, PostgreSQL, GitLab, Apache Avro, Kubernetes, AWS, RabbitMQ, C/C++/Rust

We're Quantlane, a proprietary trading firm built for traders. Our goal is to create a best-in-class ecosystem that helps traders unlock their full potential. At the heart of it is our own trading platform — software that enables both manual and algorithmic trading.
👨‍💻 How we work

Our development team has 16 people. We work in an agile environment, develop iteratively, and take testing seriously. We currently have three specialized product sub-teams — Execution, Data, and Infrastructure — each focused on developing and running their core domain.

📊 Who we're looking for

This role is for our Execution Platform team, where we have three experienced Python developers. We tackle challenging backend problems here — performance and platform optimization, scalability, and system robustness.

🔥 Want to help build a platform that has a real impact on our traders' success? Come join us! 🚀

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Building backend applications in Python (asyncio, FastAPI, Django, RabbitMQ)

  • Maintaining and shipping new features to our internal execution platform

  • Evaluating and integrating third-party solutions

  • Deploying applications to production (Kubernetes + Argo CD)

  • Talking to traders and analysts — your internal customers — about the features they need

  • Taking turns with the rest of the team on platform support

  • Joining SCRUM ceremonies — but don't worry about pointless meetings where you wonder why you're there. For us, it's all about handling business priorities efficiently, not following SCRUM by the book.

  • What we offer:

  • Snacks, 5 weeks of vacation, 5 sick days, and a Multisport card

  • Brand new, modern offices in Karlín
  • Hybrid setup — ideally 3 days on-site
  • Regular sessions with a company therapist / coach
  • English lessons with a native speaker
  • Internal training and contributions toward technical conferences
  • A bit about you:

  • You have backend development experience, ideally in Python or one of the compiled languages (C/C++/Rust)

  • You know SW development best practices (Git, testing, KISS, DRY, YAGNI)

  • You're into high-performance applications, but you're equally comfortable with standard Python backends

  • You care about more than just writing code — you can give feedback to teammates, and you're open to taking ownership of a project

  • You think about the architecture of what you're building, you're not afraid to share your opinion in team discussions, but you're also open to other people's perspectives

  • Before diving in, you stop to think whether someone's already solved the problem — no reinventing the wheel

  • You have a decent level of English, which you'll need for communicating with some of our traders

  • Ideally, you also:

  • Have experience designing high-performance or distributed system architectures

  • Know Rust

  • Have an interest in capital markets
