Senior QA Engineer

Project description

We are DXC Luxoft Financial Services, an award-winning provider of technology solutions dedicated to the Financial Services sector. We are establishing a high-impact engineering squad in Bucharest to deliver a next-generation Financial Markets Clearing Platform for FX Swaps, a critical component in the global clearing ecosystem. A key innovation area in this program is the adoption of AI-driven tooling to modernize and extend an existing service that currently processes CSV-based trade data. The goal is to intelligently transform and enrich trade data into compliant FPML (Financial products Markup Language) formats, supporting new and evolving product types with minimal manual intervention. This initiative operates within a highly regulated, low-latency environment, with strict requirements around resilience, performance, and availability, while also preparing the platform for future cloud migration within the next 12–18 months. You will work in an Agile Scrum environment, contributing across the full SDLC—from architecture and design to implementation, testing, and production rollout—while aligning with client engineering standards. Team Overview We are building a dedicated squad in Bucharest (Java Developers + QA Automation Engineers) working closely with global teams. The team operates in 2-week sprint cycles, following Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog refinement). The team will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of the FX Swaps product, including design, development, testing, production deployment, and post-go-live support.

Responsibilities

  • Test Strategy & Component Testing - Design and execute component-level test strategies, with strong focus on service-level validation - Define and implement test plans covering functional and non-functional requirements - Validate complex trade workflows ensuring transaction integrity and accuracy Automation & Framework Development - Develop automated tests using Cucumber/Gherkin and Java-based frameworks - Contribute to building a new test automation framework, leveraging existing frameworks and extending them where needed - Work with tools such as Cucumber, IntelliJ, Fusion, and ORQA (custom framework) - Collaborate closely with Java Automation Engineers maintaining core frameworks Integration & Data Testing - Perform integration testing with external FX venues (e.g., FX matching platforms) - Test MQ-based integrations and XML messaging (ClearLink APIs) - Validate end-to-end FX trade processing flows Non-Functional & Quality Assurance - Execute performance, latency, and capacity testing aligned with strict SLAs - Validate resilience, failover, and recovery scenarios - Ensure high automation coverage (automation-first approach) AI & Continuous Improvement - Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) for test generation and coverage optimization - Contribute to AI-driven testing approaches, including intelligent test design and validation Collaboration & Delivery - Work in Agile Scrum teams, supporting CI/CD and incremental releases - Support OAT, UAT, go-live, and post-release activities - Analyse defects, perform root cause analysis, and produce test reports and metrics

SKILLS

Must have

  • Core QA & Automation - Strong experience in QA Automation (senior level, ideally 8–10+ years) - Proven expertise with Cucumber, Gherkin, and Java-based test automation frameworks - Experience testing Java/Spring Boot microservices - Strong knowledge of functional, integration, and regression testing Component & Integration Testing - Hands-on experience with component/service-level testing - Strong experience with API and integration testing (REST, MQ, XML) - Ability to validate complex, transaction-based systems Non-Functional Testing - Solid understanding of performance, resilience, and capacity testing - Experience working with low-latency systems and SLA-driven environments Engineering & Tools - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation integration - Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools - Comfortable working with custom frameworks (e.g., ORQA) and extending them AI & Delivery Mindset - Experience or strong interest in AI-assisted testing and automation - Strong focus on test design, coverage, and quality strategy (not just execution) - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with full SDLC ownership
