Senior Quantum Architect
About Sygaldry
Sygaldry Technologies is building quantum-accelerated AI servers to exponentially speed up training and inference for AI. By integrating quantum and AI, we're accelerating the path to superintelligence, and addressing the problem of rising compute costs and energy bottlenecks. Sygaldry AI servers combine multiple qubit types within a single, fault-tolerant architecture to deliver the combination of cost, scale, and speed necessary for advanced AI applications. We pioneer new domains in physics, engineering, and AI, tackling the hardest challenges with a grounded, optimistic, and rigorous culture. We're looking for individuals ready to define the intersection of quantum and AI and drive its profound global impact.
About You:
Sygaldry Technologies is seeking an exceptional scientist to serve as a Senior Quantum Architect. In this role, you will own the architectural vision for integrating multiple complementary qubit modalities into a fault-tolerant quantum computing system, bridging error correction theory with the realities of physical hardware. This is a rare opportunity to shape the foundational architecture of a new quantum computing paradigm.
What You'll Work On:
Define and drive the end-to-end fault-tolerant architecture for novel hardware spanning multiple qubit modalities, from QEC theory down to hardware-level implementation
Make and defend high-stakes architectural trade-offs across QEC codes and fault-tolerant logic under real device constraints and noise
Translate cutting-edge error correction theory into hardware-aware protocols validated on physical devices
Co-design the architecture with target applications in mind, tailoring fault-tolerant resource allocation and logical operations to quantum algorithms for AI and machine learning workloads
Establish the simulation, modeling, and benchmarking frameworks used to guide system design and de-risk the technical roadmap
Set technical direction and mentor a multidisciplinary team of experimental and theoretical physicists, engineers, and computer scientists
You May Be a Good Fit If You Have:
A PhD in physics, applied physics, computer science, electrical engineering, or an equivalent degree in a similar field
8+ years of experience in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architecture, including senior or lead roles
A strong publication record in quantum error correction, fault tolerance, or related fields
Demonstrated experience implementing and validating QEC or fault-tolerant protocols on real quantum hardware
Hands-on experience taking quantum technology from theory through deployment, ideally in an industry setting
Strong programming skills in a scientific computing environment
A proven track record of leading successful cross-team, multidisciplinary projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate architectural decisions to both technical and executive audiences
How We’re Different
