Your next career opportunity
You will join a leading psychiatry research team focused on novel treatments for mood disorders.
You will contribute to investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trials, plus neuroscience studies on mechanisms of action.
You will also provide specialist care in the Royal Melbourne Hospital's AIM Clinic, Victoria’s first public ketamine service for depression. (clinical sessions at Royal Melbourne Hospital will be available under a separate contract).

What you will deliver:

• Conduct high quality clinical research, including participant consent, assessment, documentation and protocol adherence.

• Lead and support psychiatric assessment, treatment and oversight for participants in clinical trials and studies.

• Develop and publish research outputs, including peer reviewed papers and conference presentations with collaborators.

• Supervise psychiatry registrars, contribute to multidisciplinary team leadership and participate in governance and risk activities.

• Promote University values, uphold policies, and maintain exemplary clinical, ethical and safety standards.

You may be a great fit if you:

• Hold current AHPRA medical registration and Fellowship of the RANZCP.

• Maintain accreditation as an Approved Supervisor for RANZCP trainees.

• Bring extensive experience in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advanced clinical risk management.

• Demonstrate success leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating effectively across clinical and research settings.

• Exhibit highly developed written and verbal communication skills and strong stakeholder relationship capabilities.

• Thrive in a fast paced environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining high quality standards.

Your new team – Department of Psychiatry
You will join the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, working within Prof Chris Davey’s group.
The team partners closely with Prof Ben Harrison, Dr Trevor Steward and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Together, you will investigate novel treatments for mood disorders, combining clinical trials with advanced neuroscience approaches.
You will contribute to impactful research and clinical innovation that improves outcomes for people with severe depression.
