Senior Social Worker
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

The Social Worker serves as the Local Recovery Coordinator (LRC) within the Mental Health Service and is responsible for promoting recovery oriented systems of care across mental health programs and services. The incumbent functions as an independently licensed clinical social worker and serves as a subject matter expert in psychiatric rehabilitation, recovery-oriented practices, Veteran-centered care, and system transformation initiatives. Duties include, but not limited to: Coordinates and supports implementation of recovery-oriented initiatives throughout the Mental Health Service. Promotes adherence to VHA recovery principles, psychosocial rehabilitation models, and Veteran-centered care practices. Participates in planning, implementation, and evaluation of recovery-focused programming and activities. Provides consultation to interdisciplinary teams regarding recovery-oriented approaches, psychiatric rehabilitation strategies, and Veteran engagement. Assists staff in incorporating recovery principles into treatment planning and care coordination. Promotes Veteran self-determination, empowerment, and shared decision-making within treatment systems. Assists Veterans in identifying recovery goals, accessing resources, and navigating systems of care. Provides education and training to staff regarding recovery-oriented care, psychosocial rehabilitation, and evidence-based recovery practices. Assists with development and implementation of policies, procedures, and workflows that support recovery-oriented service delivery. Maintains documentation and program records in accordance with VA policy and accreditation standards.
