About the Role

The Senior Software Architect is a technical leader accountable for ensuring software component designs are fit for purpose, well-documented, and aligned with product roadmap, business goals, and technology strategy. This role works closely with product owners, developers, and fellow architects to drive sound design decisions and uphold architectural standards across a defined set of components.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do.

  • Form a close partnership with relevant product owners; lead, facilitate, coordinate, and govern requirements analysis and software design activities to ensure designs are fit for purpose and adhere to architectural constraints, quality standards, and best practice guidance
  • Collaborate with software developers and other software architects to produce clear, accurate design documentation for components in scope that complies with established guidance
  • Work with software developers to identify and prioritize deficiencies in component design and lead efforts to build a reasonable and actionable plan to address them
  • Identify and record inconsistencies in patterns, best practices, technologies, and tools used in design, and partner with others to create a prioritized remediation plan
  • Provide timely design decisions and guidance to unblock development teams, addressing obstacles and challenges as they arise with clarity and confidence
  • Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to team members; continuously monitor and assess compliance with architectural guidance, providing necessary support to ensure consistent adherence

Role Essentials

What you'll need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with broad and deep expertise across all facets of professional software engineering in multiple technical and commercial environments
  • Advanced working experience with data structures, algorithms, software design, design patterns, architecture patterns, and quality attributes
  • Advanced software modeling skills covering information domain, process, state, security, logical, and physical architectural views
  • Advanced working knowledge of modern software development lifecycle processes from product conception through deployment, with direct development experience across two or more technology stacks
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to persuade, influence, and build consensus across cross-functional roles and all levels of the organization
