I’m partnered with a mission-driven, mobile-first tech company building a product used by a global community across 100+ countries. Their platform blends technology with real-world exploration, encouraging people to engage more deeply with the world around them 🌍

Off the back of strong growth and product success, they’re now entering a new phase heavily shaped by AI, and beginning to plan their next Product Engineering hire.

As a result, the role is evolving - it’s less about knowing a specific framework inside-out, and more about:

• Working effectively alongside AI as part of your day-to-day workflow
• Evaluating and improving AI-assisted output
• Applying strong engineering fundamentals to ensure quality, performance, and scalability
• Thinking in terms of systems, product outcomes, and user impact

AI enables speed, but strong engineers are still critical in making the right decisions.

What they’ll likely be looking for

• Strong software engineering fundamentals (essential)
• Experience building production systems in JavaScript / TypeScript
• Exposure to modern frontend and/or mobile development (e.g. React / React Native)
• Backend experience (Node.js or similar)
• Experience owning features end-to-end in a product environment
• Comfort working with AI tools
• The ability to sense-check and challenge code quality, including AI-generated output
