About the Role

Smart Working is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for our client, a UK-based hospitality technology organisation. This is a long-term role for one hire, suited to an experienced engineer with strong hands-on capability across TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.

The role requires 5+ years of experience in each of TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js. Further details on the project scope, team structure, working model, and responsibilities have not been provided in the client brief.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
  • Build robust frontend and backend features, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Write clean, reusable, and well-tested code while following engineering best practices and coding standards.
  • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to the implementation of scalable application architectures.
  • Review code, provide constructive feedback, and promote high standards of code quality across the team.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure application stability and optimal performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, code quality, and engineering practices.
  • Work closely with other engineers to deliver software features within agreed timelines and project objectives.
  • Stay up to date with modern web development practices and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the technology stack.
