Senior Specialist, Physical Security Operations

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Physical Security Operations Analyst(s) provide a critical support function as a member of the Joint Security Operations Center (JSOC) team in ensuring the safety and security of personnel and assets at all Synchrony locations. The analyst serves as the main point of contact for the intake and escalation of all physical security and crisis management issues as reported by Synchrony personnel. This position monitors real time data from a diverse array of sources (including: access control, alarm, CCTV systems, travel safety and security, physical security operations and worldwide news). The analyst will provide enhanced security monitoring, analyze collected data, audit findings and security procedures, and provide briefings to Synchrony’s security management team for appropriate response. Analysts will work closely with members of the information security and fraud teams in an integrated approach to security incidents.

This is a Hybrid Role, which will require spending 2-3 days per week onsite.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage all physical security controls to include cameras, guards and access controls.

  • Provide effective and efficient processing of all information relevant to the security operations business.

  • Responsible for accurate and timely incident reporting.

  • Monitor and manage the physical security request management system.

  • Responsible for monitoring all Synchrony Financial Data Center physical security operations

  • Provide physical security support for Investigative teams, Crisis Management events and Information Security incidents.

  • Coordinate guard response to events as necessary through the contract guard manager.

  • Coordinate maintenance repair requests on security technology

  • Prepare and disseminate metric reports on physical security and crisis management data.

  • Quality assurance and review of security technology and procedures.

  • Monitor media and weather-related events for incidents potentially impacting Synchrony Financial.

  • Point of contact for Crisis Management and Security related incidents and activate teams as appropriate

  • Documentation & Maintenance of JSOC & Guard Procedures

  • Daily review and auditing of Bank Branch security procedures

  • Contribute ideas toward improving day-to-day business practices related to the Joint Security Operations Center.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of security experience in government, law enforcement agency or corporate security organization:

  • Demonstrated verbal communication, presentation and report writing skills

  • Demonstrated Customer Service and incident management skills

  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)

  • Comfortable with high-tech work environment, and constant learning of new tools and innovations

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team

  • Ability to research, investigate, compile information and assess and evaluate situations effectively

  • Ability to work onsite 2-3 days per week

The hourly rate range for this position is $25.50 - $35.00/hr USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience or skill level.

You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
