Gemini Enterprise brings together the power of Google Search, the latest foundation models, and agent building tools to power generative search, assistant, and agent applications over enterprise data. As the front-door to agents in the enterprise, Gemini Enterprise offers a fully-managed Cloud-compliant search and assistant experience along with the Cloud version of NotebookLM, Deep Research, and many other Google agentic innovations.
The Google Cloud AI Research team addresses AI challenges motivated by Google Cloud’s mission of bringing AI to tech, healthcare, finance, retail and many other industries. We work on a range of unique problems focused on research topics that maximize scientific and real-world impact, aiming to push the state-of-the-art in AI and share findings with the broader research community. We also collaborate with product teams to bring innovations to real-world impact that benefits our customers. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.US: $262000 - $365000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Design, develop, and maintain the core backend infrastructure and services, such as Assistant and Dolphin servers, that power Gemini Enterprise.
- Architect and optimize orchestration layers and extensible frameworks for Large Language Models (LLMs) and advanced agentic workflows, including virtual machine-based agents and "Skills".
- Build and support essential platform features and shared infrastructure, including robust systems for large-scale file uploading and downloading.
- Build the newest creation user experiences in Gemini Enterprise to support and enhance Google Workspace.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to leverage Google’s latest Gemini models, Search, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies to deliver high-impact solutions for Cloud customers.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience integrating Generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience working with Spanner, OnePlatform, Gemini API, or Agent development, coupled with a commitment to engineering excellence and an interest in solving complex problems using ML and Search technologies.
- Experience in a fast AI space while navigating changing specifications and helping the team.
