Senior Staff Software Engineer (Remote)

2\. About the Opportunity:
The Senior Staff Software Engineer role is focused on leading the development and scaling of high-performing applications used by global teams. This position requires deep expertise in frontend React and backend Python/Django technologies. The engineer will drive organization-wide technical initiatives, ensuring exceptional user experiences and contributing to architectural decisions. The role is critical for maintaining and advancing the company’s technical capabilities and mentoring junior engineers.
3\. Responsibilities:
• Lead development of performant, scalable React-based user interfaces
• Build and maintain Python/Django REST APIs and backend services
• Collaborate on architecture, design decisions, and code reviews
• Maintain and improve test coverage across the technology stack
• Debug, resolve technical debt, and enhance code quality
• Contribute to technology and tooling decisions and best practices
• Mentor team members and help shape engineering processes
4\. Requirements:
• 6+ years of full-stack engineering experience
• Strong React skills including modern React (hooks, Context API), reusable components, and multi-project web apps
• Expertise in Python/Django, Django Rest Framework, and REST API design
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS
• Experience building scalable systems addressing race conditions, idempotency, and backpressure
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases, especially Postgres
• Unit and integration testing experience (Jest, React Testing Library, pytest, unittest)
• Comfortable with Git and Agile development workflows
• Demonstrated commitment to secure software development and mitigating common application security vulnerabilities, including OWASP Top 10
Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Haves):
• State management libraries (Redux, Zustand, Thunk)
• Responsive design frameworks such as Material-UI, Bootstrap, or Tailwind
• Cloud and infrastructure experience (GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform)
• Messaging and queueing systems (Pub/Sub, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS)
• Knowledge of SOLID design principles
5\. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
• Competitive total compensation range of $200,000 to $270,000, including base salary, annual performance bonus, and equity
