Senior Structural Packaging Designer

Location: Hybrid | Antwerp or Amsterdam
Experience: 5+ years of experience in structural packaging design

Shape packaging experiences people remember

At Loop, packaging is more than protection. It is the first physical interaction customers have with our products. As a Senior Packaging Structural Designer, you create packaging systems that feel intuitive, premium, and unmistakably Loop.

From concept to production, you transform ideas into packaging solutions that balance customer experience, sustainability, and manufacturability. You work across structural design, materials, CAD, prototyping, visualization, and AI tools while collaborating closely with Design, UX, Product Development, Engineering, and suppliers.

The Role

You transform packaging briefs into innovative structural concepts that elevate the customer experience while meeting business, operational, and manufacturing requirements.

You work closely with the Packaging Graphic Designer from the earliest concept stages, combining structural thinking and visual storytelling to create cohesive packaging experiences.

You explore multiple directions, build prototypes, test ideas, and develop solutions that are ready for implementation. Along the way, you partner with teams across Design, Product Development, Engineering, UX, and external suppliers to bring packaging concepts to life.

What You'll Do

  • Drive packaging design from concept to production

  • Create structural solutions that enhance product presentation, usability, and customer experience

  • Build, test, and refine concepts through prototyping and validation

  • Partner closely with the Packaging Graphic Designer to develop packaging concepts that seamlessly integrate structure and visual storytelling

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and suppliers to deliver production ready solutions

You Won't

  • Treat packaging as purely visual without considering functionality, feasibility, or production realities

  • Create the graphic design of the packaging experience

  • Wait for direction instead of proactively exploring, testing, and refining multiple solutions

  • Work in isolation rather than collaborating with stakeholders throughout the development process

How You'll Succeed

You know how to translate ambitious ideas into packaging solutions that can be produced at scale. You make thoughtful tradeoffs between customer experience, sustainability, cost, and operational requirements without losing sight of the original design intent.

You bring structure to complex projects, navigate ambiguity comfortably, and keep momentum across multiple workstreams. Whether working with designers, engineers, suppliers, or product teams, you communicate clearly and build alignment around decisions.

You combine curiosity with craftsmanship, constantly looking for better ways to solve problems through materials, emerging technologies, and AI powered workflows.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in structural packaging design or packaging development

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating packaging solutions brought to market

  • Experience creating premium consumer packaging experiences

  • Proficiency with packaging CAD tools such as ArtiosCAD, KaseMake, Esko, SolidWorks, Rhino, or similar

  • Strong 3D visualization and rendering skills

  • Hands on prototyping and testing experience

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Proficiency in using AI tools within your design workflow, along with a strong curiosity to further develop and expand these capabilities

Loop isn't for everyone. We might not be a match if you:

  • Focus only on technical execution without considering the broader customer experience

  • Struggle to balance creativity with practical constraints

  • Avoid feedback, collaboration, or iteration during the design process

  • Prefer working only within clearly defined boundaries

  • See packaging as a necessity rather than an opportunity to create impact

Great. At Loop, packaging is a critical part of how customers experience our brand. If you want to create thoughtful, innovative packaging that people interact with every day and help shape the future of our physical brand experience, we'd love to hear from you.
