Senior SW developer MEM
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced System Function Owner – MEM to join our Airbag Systems Engineering team. In this role, there is end to end ownership of the Memory (MEM) function throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and system requirements to software integration, validation, and production support.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining system requirements, driving functional and technical solutions, coordinating cross-functional development activities, and ensuring that the MEM function meets customer, safety, quality, and performance requirements. This role requires close collaboration with Software, Hardware, Functional Safety, Validation, Platform, and Customer Engineering teams.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in automotive systems engineering, AUTOSAR-based system and software development, memory management concepts, and Airbag system architecture, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Key Responsibilities
- Own the MEM system function across the complete product development lifecycle.
- Define, analyze, and maintain system requirements, interfaces, and functional behavior for the MEM function.
- Drive system architecture and technical solutions in collaboration with Software, Hardware, Platform, and Safety teams.
- Ensure alignment between customer requirements, system architecture, and software development.
- Coordinate cross-functional development activities to deliver a robust and compliant MEM solution.
- Define startup and shutdown behavior for the MEM function, ensuring reliable operation under all power conditions.
- Support system integration, verification, validation, and customer acceptance activities.
- Perform impact analysis for requirement changes and evaluate technical risks.
- Lead technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE (ASPICE), and organizational development processes.
- Review system requirements, architecture, and design documentation to ensure completeness, consistency and traceability.
- Support issue investigation, root cause analysis and resolution of system-level defects.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across multiple engineering disciplines.
What We’re Looking For
- 8–12 years of experience in automotive systems or embedded software engineering.
- Proven experience as a System Engineer, Function Owner, Technical Lead, or Systems Architect.
- Strong understanding of AUTOSAR-based system and software development ( including BSW)
- Experience working with safety-critical automotive ECUs
- Strong knowledge of embedded systems, memory management, and ECU architecture.
- Excellent analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and system-level debugging skills.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer interaction skills.
- Ability to lead technical discussions and influence cross-functional teams.
- High level of ownership, accountability, and decision-making capability.
- Strong mentoring and technical leadership skills.

Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Airbag Systems, particularly Event Data Recorder (EDR) and Memory (MEM) concepts.
- Experience with Systems Engineering and modelling using IBM Rhapsody.
- Understanding of automotive communication protocols and diagnostics (CAN, CAN FD, UDS).
- Understanding of ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity principles.
- Experience using Generative AI (GenAI) tools to enhance engineering productivity in requirements analysis, design, documentation, testing, and problem-solving.
