The Senior Systems Engineer is a Tier 2 application support role responsible for the effective operation, configuration, and functional support of the NavOne application (Quantios) supporting the Global Financial Solutions (GFS) business unit. This role provides deep expertise in NavOne functionality and acts as a key escalation point for complex functional, configuration, and data related issues.

A core requirement of this role is strong Microsoft SQL Server capability, used to support complex troubleshooting, data analysis, reporting, and controlled data updates. The role balances operational support with functional ownership, documentation, and user enablement in a regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 2 support for the NavOne application, resolving complex incidents and service requests escalated from Tier 1
  • Act as a functional and technical escalation point for NavOne‑related issues
  • Troubleshoot issues spanning application functionality, configuration, RBAC, and data
  • Own incidents through to resolution, ensuring accurate documentation and clear stakeholder communication
  • Maintain a deep understanding of NavOne functionality, modules, workflows, and business use cases
  • Support business users with functional guidance and best‑practice usage
  • Translate business requirements into effective application configuration and support approaches
  • Configure and maintain NavOne application settings to support business and operational requirements
  • Support application updates, patches, and vendor releases.
  • Support functional testing and validation during application updates and vendor releases
  • Ensure configuration changes are documented, controlled, and supportable
  • Provide advanced SQL support for NavOne by writing and analysing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views, investigating data integrity, reconciliation, and reporting issues, and supporting data extracts and operational reporting.
  • Diagnose performance issues using query analysis, execution plans, and indexing insights
  • Perform controlled data fixes and updates in line with change management and audit requirements
  • Collaborate with DBAs and vendors on database‑related issues and optimizations
  • Create and maintain NavOne documentation, including user manuals, functional guides, and runbooks
  • Participate in major incidents involving NavOne, providing functional and technical leadership
  • Lead or contribute to root cause analysis for recurring or high‑impact issues
  • Liaise with Quantios vendor support to raise defects, clarify functionality, and track resolutions
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements, including FATCA and CRS, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with compliance standards

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong hands‑on experience supporting NavOne (Quantios) in a production environment
  • Deep understanding of NavOne functionality, workflows, application configuration and updates.
  • Advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills, including complex querying and data analysis, performance troubleshooting and optimisation, and reporting and data extract support.
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in application support
  • Proven experience operating in a Tier 2 application support role
  • Experience supporting applications in a financial services or regulated environment is strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex functional and technical topics clearly
  • High attention to detail, particularly around data, access, and configuration
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • ITIL Foundation or higher
  • Working knowledge of regulatory reporting frameworks such as FATCA and CRS, including data handling, reconciliation, and reporting processes
