Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented senior team member to join our Global Wholesale Banking (GWB) Middle Office at RHB Bank Berhad. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing various middle office functions, ensuring smooth operations between front and back office teams, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Lead and perform new customer onboarding for:
Corporate & Commercial clients
Financial Institutions
Capital Markets / Corporate Deals
(2) Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) assessments, Conflict of Interest (COI) checks, including:
Ownership and control structure analysis
Beneficial ownership identification
Sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening
Perform Conflict of Interest (COI) checks in accordance with bank policies
Ensure onboarding documentation meets regulatory, policy, and audit standards
(3) Customer Data Management
Perform customer creation and maintenance in core banking and related systems
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems
Maintain proper record keeping and document retention in line with regulatory requirements
Handle periodic KYC reviews and trigger events
(4) Quality Control (QC) & Governance
Perform QC reviews on onboarding and review cases completed by team members
Identify gaps, errors, or control weaknesses and ensure timely remediation
Support internal audits, regulatory examinations, and compliance reviews
Assist in enhancing process controls, SOPs, and workflows
(5) Stakeholder Management (act as a key point of contact for):
Front Office / Relationship Managers
Compliance, Financial Crime, and Risk teams
Operations, IT, and other internal stakeholders
Provide clear guidance on onboarding, KYC, and AML/CFT requirements
Escalate issues, risks, and delays appropriately
(6) Reporting & Team Support
Prepare management reports, MIS, and regulatory-related statistics
Track onboarding volumes, turnaround time, and QC findings
Support team capacity planning and task allocation
Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to team members
Key Requirements
Experience
5–6 years of relevant experience in:
Client onboarding
Middle office / operations
KYC / AML / CDD / EDD
Experience covering Corporate, Commercial, Financial Institution, and Capital Markets clients is highly preferred
Prior experience in a banking or financial institution environment is required
Exposure to quality control or team-lead responsibilities is an advantage
Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, or related fields
AML/CFT certification (e.g. ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent) is required or strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of AML/CFT, KYC, and regulatory requirements
Good knowledge of beneficial ownership, complex structures, and financial institutions
Strong attention to detail and risk awareness
Effective stakeholder communication and issue-resolution skills
Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Power BI)
Experience with onboarding or core banking systems is an advantage
