Job Description\:

We are seeking a Senior Technical Information Services Engineer to lead the development of future-focused technical information and documentation solutions within a major aerospace programme. The role involves engaging with customers, industry experts and cross-functional stakeholders to define and capture requirements, develop concepts and strategies for end-to-end Technical Information Management, and shape next-generation digital solutions incorporating technologies such as AR/VR and cloud-based platforms. You will work closely with engineering, digital, procurement and supply chain teams to ensure technical information requirements are integrated throughout the programme lifecycle, while producing plans, specifications and delivery strategies that support operations, maintenance, training, upgrades and through-life support. The position also includes coordinating activities, contributing to programme planning and ensuring the successful delivery of technical information and documentation outputs.

Core duties\:

  • Leading the engagement with Customer and Industry SMEs to elicit, understand and capture user and system requirements for Technical Information Management
  • Developing concepts, specifications and philosophy’s for how technical information/publications/documentation will be managed, end-to-end (from design organisation to end-user) for FCAS
  • Developing use cases and identifying technology requirements for a next generation Technical Information Management solution (e.g. AR/VR technologies, digital/cloud-based infrastructure)
  • Working with stakeholders across other programme teams to integrate Technical Information Management requirements (e.g. Core Platform Design Teams, Digital Engineering Strategy Team)
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain & Procurement teams on early communication of through-life technical information requirements into the supply base
  • Producing strategies & plans throughout the lifecycle for the technical information management solution – from design of the technical information solution, development and authoring of publications/information, to in-service technical information management.
  • Planning and co-ordinating team tasking, leading the inputs to planning sessions and reviews, and contributing to schedules of work around Technical Information/Technical Documentation deliverables

Essential Skills\:

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience of working within UK Military Aviation Authority (MAA) regulatory frameworks and requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering principles and the full product lifecycle, from concept and development through to in-service support.
  • Experience managing technical information and documentation, with a strong grasp of configuration control processes and best practices.
  • Degree-qualified in a relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent experience within a related engineering field.
  • Proven team leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to coordinate activities, guide stakeholders, and support successful project delivery.

The Technical Information Services Team\:

You will join a collaborative engineering team responsible for shaping the future of Technical Information Management and Technical Documentation for advanced combat air programmes. Working alongside systems engineers, platform design teams, digital engineering specialists, supply chain and procurement professionals, you will help define requirements and develop innovative technical information solutions that support the full product lifecycle. The role offers significant exposure to customers, industry subject matter experts and key programme stakeholders, providing the opportunity to influence how technical information is created, managed and delivered to support operations, maintenance, training and through-life support. Operating within an agile environment, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams while contributing to the development of next-generation digital engineering and technical publication capabilities.
