Senior Technical Program Manager, Design Execution, Special Projects

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
As a Technical Program Manager, Advanced Manufacturing and Data Center Design, you have experience in the area of complex, multi-disciplinary, and geographically dispersed advanced manufacturing and data center design, development, construction and commissioning projects. You will provide project management of large-scale advanced manufacturing, data centers, networking, AC power distribution/conversion and cooling methods at multiple scales. You will manage complex schedules, budgets, and broad inter-dependencies. You will have extensive experience managing large-scale technical projects in a changing industry, being able to tolerate ambiguity, and demonstrate problem solving leadership with limited oversight.
US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

- Manage advanced manufacturing and data center design projects from detailed design through construction administration and finally closeout and handover to operations.
- Be responsible for gathering internal requirements, generating potential options, presenting to the leadership team, and delivering design solutions that satisfy customers needs.
- Create and manage strategies for the execution of designs that leverage a standard baseline plan of record.
- Overcome critical challenges while maintaining adherence to project timelines, quality and costs, and managing a cross functional set of stakeholders.
- Be responsible for managing strategy for projects that require deviation from the baseline design due to environmental, code or other aspects that require localization.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management.
- Experience managing multi-group, multi-disciplinary construction projects and designs.
Preferred qualifications:
- PE License, RA License, Chartered Engineer License or equivalent technical professional license or certification.
- Master's or PhD degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related technical fields.
- Experience managing advanced manufacturing and data center design.
- Experience with data center specific or equivalent equipment/environments, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, building controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems, and a working understanding of start up/commissioning processes.
- Experience managing vendor relationships, with an understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.
