Senior Technical Reviewer Food Equipment

As a Senior Technical Reviewer Product Certification (Materials), you will conduct product reviews, as well as evaluation and quality assurance reviews for a wide range of food contact materials and chemicals. You will utilize a variety of established policies, guidelines, standards and regulations, such as, the Nonfood Compound Registration Guidelines, NSF/ANSI Standard 51, and the US Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR). etc. This role provides support and training to a team of Technical Reviewers and provides oversight of the certification process by completing certification decisions and quality control of product reviews to ensure accuracy and consistent decisions. As the subject matter expert, this role will collaborate with the technical scheme lead to set internal policy, interpret certification requirements, and support process improvement initiatives. This role performs a wide range of technical, administrative and customer-related duties with varying complexity.

  • Perform quality assurance reviews of products, client documentation and test reports against established [RG1.1] policies/guidelines/standards/regulations

  • Perform certification and registration reviews of products, client documentation and test reports against established policies/guidelines/standards/regulations

  • Determine required compliance testing and evaluation; document testing results as required for certification or registration services

  • Make technical decisions and provide technical support to project managers, clients and other NSF departments

  • Serve as mentor/trainer for technical reviewers

  • Evaluate competencies for technical reviewers

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives

  • Actively participate in accreditation activities, as appropriate

  • Represent NSF at industry events such as trade shows, conferences and meetings

  • Develop and/or update SOPs, policies, trainings and interpretation guidelines

  • Provide response to regulatory issues and complaints in conjunction with other NSF staff, as appropriate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology or related discipline and 5+ years related work experience
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills
