Senior Technical Safety Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Safety Engineer to support offshore, oil & gas, FPSO, and EPC projects. We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Safety Engineer to lead Technical Safety activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Technical Safety and Process Safety activities across FEED, detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations phases.
- Participate in and support safety studies including HAZID, HAZOP, ENVID, QRA, FERA, EERA, SIMOPS, and ALARP assessments.
- Develop and review Technical Safety deliverables such as:
- Firewater Demand Calculations
- Fire Fighting P&IDs
- Fire & Gas Detection Layouts
- Hazardous Area Classification (HAC)
- Safety & Fire System Layouts
- Escape and Evacuation Plans
- Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Systems
- Interface with clients, regulatory authorities, classification societies, vendors, and third-party consultants.
- Ensure compliance with international standards including API, NFPA, IEC, ISO, IMO, and UK HSE requirements.
- Mentor junior engineers and support technical development within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process Safety Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Technical Safety or Process Safety within offshore, oil & gas, FPSO, marine, or EPC projects.
- Strong experience in Technical Safety studies, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience preparing Technical Safety engineering deliverables.
- Experience engaging with clients, regulators, and classification societies.
- Professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer, TÜV, CFSE) will be an added advantage.
- Ability to converse in Mandarin and read Chinese is an advantage.
