Position Summary:
This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Job expectations may include coaching, mentoring, providing feedback and hands on career development, identifying emerging talent, fostering leadership skills, and managing stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

The Testing Manager is responsible for leading and evolving the quality engineering function with a strong focus on reducing testing toil and improving product quality through intelligent automation and AI‑driven practices. This role will own test strategy, execution, and continuous improvement across the SDLC, while introducing pragmatic applications of Artificial Intelligence to increase test effectiveness, speed, and coverage. The manager will lead and mentor a team of testers and automation engineers, partner closely with development and product teams, and drive measurable improvements in quality, cycle time, and release confidence. Success in this role requires a balance of strong testing fundamentals, technical depth, leadership capability, and the ability to translate AI innovations into practical value for the organization.

  • Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
  • Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
  • Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
  • Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
  • Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
  • Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
  • Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders
  • Own QA budget, staffing, and resource allocation to support both initiative and BAU applications
  • Partner with Development, Product, and Delivery leaders to plan, execute, and release with quality built in
  • Ensure applications receive appropriate test coverage regardless of annual initiative funding
  • Define and execute the overall QA strategy aligned with enterprise SDLC and governance standard
  • Foster a continuous learning culture where testers are true system SME
  • Drive a shift‑left, automation‑first testing mode
  • Embed QA early in grooming, design, and story definition
  • Ensure functional testing, automation, and end‑to‑end testing are integrate
  • Own test automation frameworks across UI, API, data, and integration
  • Leverage AI to improve test creation, maintenance, test data management, and efficiency

    Required Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years leading test teams across complex systems.
    • Demonstrated hands‑on experience modernizing testing practices, including test automation, CI/CD integration, and shift‑left testing.
    • Strong understanding of how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning can be applied to software testing, including: – Intelligent test case generation and prioritization
    • Defect prediction and risk‑based testing
    • Test data generation and synthetic data strategies
    • Reducing manual regression toil through AI‑assisted automation
    • Proven ability to evaluate, pilot, and scale AI‑enabled testing tools and frameworks (commercial or open‑source), with a clear focus on measurable outcomes such as reduced cycle time, improved coverage, and higher defect detection efficiency.
    • Solid technical foundation in automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST API testing, performance testing), with enough technical depth to guide architecture decisions and code quality.
    • Experience partnering with development, product, and platform teams to embed quality and AI‑driven testing practices into the SDLC rather than treating testing as a downstream activity.
    • Strong data‑driven mindset, with the ability to define quality metrics, analyze testing signals, and use insights to continuously improve testing effectiveness.
    • Demonstrated leadership in change management — capable of upskilling existing teams, influencing stakeholders, and pragmatically introducing AI without disrupting delivery or creating unnecessary risk.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate AI concepts into clear business value for senior leadership and actionable guidance for engineers.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience working in regulated or high‑reliability environments where test quality, traceability, and explain-ability matter.
    • Prior experience building or leading a Quality Engineering transformation initiative.

    Pay and benefits information

    Pay range

    $135,900.00 - $220,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

    Discretionary incentive eligible

    This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
