Senior / Tooling Engineer

Job Summary

You will manage mold design and manufacturing processes to ensure robust tooling, coordinate mold trials, and drive tool improvements to meet quality and schedule commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in mold design development by reviewing part designs to ensure compliance with standards and robust tool production
  • Conduct tool improvement reviews to establish key milestones and assign responsibilities for design, manufacturing, mold trials, and qualification
  • Monitor, track, and report tool progress to program managers and engineers to ensure adherence to committed schedules
  • Manage and implement engineering changes to tooling effectively
  • Coordinate mold trial activities, actively participating to validate molds and ancillary tooling accurately
  • Lead post-mold trial meetings, prepare review documentation, and recommend tooling improvements to shorten qualification timelines
  • Collaborate with QA personnel to study First Article Inspection (FAI) results and coordinate necessary tool adjustments
  • Inspect and evaluate transfer tools, providing recommendations for improvements
  • Ensure all processes comply with the Company’s ISO Quality System and procedures
  • Liaise with and manage subcontractors for outsourced mold projects
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and operational goals

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Precision Engineering or equivalent
  • 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in mold design and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of project management and manufacturing processes essential for tooling projects
  • Proficiency in mold design, fabrication, and molding processes
