About the role
Experienced northeast power trader with seasoned professional expertise across PJM, NYISO, and ISO-NE markets. Proven track record managing risk and deploying speculative trading strategies, with deep specialization in PJM term zonal basis trading, congestion dynamics, and forward curve positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead term trading strategies with a strong emphasis on PJM zonal basis
- Execute financial power trades across PJM, NYISO, and ISO-NE markets
- Actively manage portfolio risk, including exposure to load, generation, congestion, and volatility across forward curves
- Develop and execute speculative trading strategies to capture market inefficiencies and dislocations
- Analyze key market fundamentals including weather, load forecasts, outages, fuel markets, and transmission constraints
- Monitor auction results (FTRs, capacity) and regulatory developments impacting market structure and pricing
- Build and maintain forward curves, basis models, and scenario analyses to support trading decisions
- Partner with risk management to ensure adherence to VaR limits, position limits, and internal risk controls
- Leverage data analytics and trading systems to find opportunities and optimize execution timing
- Communicate market views, trade rationale, and risk positioning clearly to senior leadership and interested parties
Essential Education, experience and requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, energy management, engineering, computer science or a related field.
- Proven seasoned experience and a deep knowledge of fundamentals of physical and financial US eastern power markets.
- Preferable but not required; FTR and ARR experience managing a portfolio of assets.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills for financial modeling and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Strong culture of compliance and understanding of all market rules and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading environment.
How much do we pay (Base)? 123,000 - 175,200 USD Annually
