The New York Post Group is seeking a visionary, audience-focused, and commercially savvy Senior Vice President of Video Strategy to lead and transform the company's video business across all platforms. This executive will be responsible for defining and executing an integrated editorial and commercial video strategy that advances The New York Post Group's journalism, expands audience reach, strengthens brand influence, and drives meaningful revenue growth.
As the senior leader overseeing all video operations, the Senior Vice President of Video Strategy will serve as a strategic business leader responsible for building a scalable and profitable video operation. This role will partner closely with advertising, brand partnerships, product, audience development, and business development teams to create new revenue streams through sponsorships, branded content, original franchises, licensing, syndication, platform monetization, and emerging video products.
The successful candidate will identify opportunities to grow both audience and revenue while maintaining the editorial integrity and distinctive voice that define The New York Post Group. Equally important, the Senior Vice President of Video Strategy will establish the editorial vision for video storytelling across breaking news, politics, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, commerce, and original programming. Working in close partnership with the Editor-in-Chief and newsroom leadership, this individual will ensure that video is fully embedded within the editorial process, elevating reporting through compelling visual storytelling, innovative formats, and platform-specific content that meets audiences wherever they consume news and entertainment.
The SVP of Video Strategy will oversee all aspects of long-form programming, short-form content, social video, live streaming, and video-first news reporting, ensuring alignment between editorial priorities, audience growth objectives, and commercial goals. This executive will leverage data, analytics, consumer insights, and industry trends to inform content investments, optimize distribution strategies, and maximize business performance across owned and third-party platforms.
Reporting jointly to the CEO and Editor-in-Chief, the SVP of Video Strategy will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for positioning The New York Post Group as a leading destination for video journalism, original storytelling, and premium content while building a sustainable, high-growth video business that supports the company's long-term strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Video Vision & Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive enterprise-wide video strategy aligned with company growth objectives.
Establish a clear vision for how video supports audience acquisition, engagement, subscriptions, advertising revenue, and brand expansion.
Identify emerging opportunities across platforms, formats, and technologies.
Lead long-term planning for video content, distribution, monetization, and audience development.
Editorial Video Leadership
Oversee all video content operations, including:
Long-form original programming
Short-form social video
Breaking news video
Entertainment and celebrity coverage
Lifestyle and commerce video
Live streams and special event coverage
Video-first journalism initiatives
Partner with newsroom leadership to prioritize video storytelling opportunities and integrate video into daily news workflows.
Ensure editorial integrity, journalistic standards, and brand consistency across all video content.
Social & Platform Strategy
Lead platform-specific video strategies for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X, and emerging video platforms, in partnership with the Senior Director, Social Media.
Develop audience-first programming tailored to platform behaviors and consumption trends.
Optimize content performance through analytics, testing, and audience insights.
Drive subscriber, follower, and watch-time growth across all channels.
Video Monetization & Business Growth
Partner with commercial and revenue teams to maximize video monetization opportunities.
Expand sponsorship, branded content, licensing, syndication, and platform revenue streams.
Develop scalable video franchises that attract advertisers and strategic partners.
Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks tied to revenue, engagement, and audience growth.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
Build and lead a high-performing team of video producers, editors, journalists, strategists, and managers.
Create a culture of innovation, accountability, speed, and collaboration.
Evaluate organizational capabilities and implement structures that support future growth.
Recruit, develop, and retain top video and digital talent.
Audience & Data Analytics
Establish a data-driven culture across the video organization.
Utilize audience analytics to inform content decisions, programming investments, and distribution strategies.
Monitor industry trends, competitor performance, and platform algorithm changes.
Develop dashboards and performance reviews to assess content effectiveness.
Qualifications
Required Experience
12+ years of progressive leadership experience in digital media, broadcast, streaming, news, or content organizations.
Proven success leading large-scale video operations across multiple platforms.
Deep understanding of news, entertainment, social media, and digital publishing ecosystems.
Demonstrated experience scaling audience growth through video content.
Strong track record of managing multimillion-dollar content budgets and teams.
Experience working directly with executive leadership and influencing enterprise strategy.
Preferred Experience
Experience within a major news organization, digital publisher, streaming platform, or media company.
Background leading both editorial and commercial video initiatives.
Experience launching successful video franchises and original programming.
Familiarity with AI-enabled content workflows, production technologies, and emerging media trends.
Compensation: $300,000–$325,000 base salary, plus annual bonus and long-term incentives (LTI)
Note: This role will report on-site to our Midtown office location.

Base Pay Range: $300,000 - $325,000 + bonusWe’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
