In the pivotal role of Senior Web Engineer, you will play a crucial part in shaping and enhancing our web technologies and offerings.You will collaborate with a skilled team of web engineers to develop and improve our broad range of web applications. Your hands-on involvement will be critical in crafting advanced tooling and a robust web platform, supporting our regional and client development teams in innovating and expanding our core web capabilities with precision and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
Independently design and develop sophisticated web solutions using React, ensuring high code and architectural quality.
Utilise TypeScript and JavaScript to create scalable, maintainable, and robust code.
Apply modern styling techniques to create visually appealing and accessible designs adhering to WCAG standards.
Create and maintain detailed code documentation that aligns with company standards.
Provide technical guidance and support to the product and technology team.
Champion agile best practices and Continuous Delivery to efficiently address the product backlog.
Mentor and coach peers, fostering a culture of excellence within the engineering community.
Stay technically aware, identify skills or training needs, and familiarise yourself with emerging web technologies.
Contribute to planning efforts, providing task estimations and identifying technical or resource dependencies and risks.
Participate in agile planning and design sessions, contributing to software analysis, design, and specification tasks.
Deliver competent and proactive technical support to customers and clients as needed.
Initiate and support agile process improvements to enhance team productivity and effectiveness.
Actively participate in the Code Peer Review community to elevate software development quality.
Attend regular Project Team meetings, communicating key decisions, risks, and issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and experience required:
Demonstrable expertise in React, with a profound understanding of front-end technologies including TypeScript, JavaScript, and familiarity with state management libraries such as Redux and Context hooks. [React, Next.js, Express, Node, GraphQL]
Advanced proficiency in modern styling practices using CSS, SCSS, or Less, with a strong commitment to creating accessible web content adhering to WCAG standards.
Experience in developing and executing data-driven solutions that prioritize customer satisfaction and user experience.
Proven track record in the development of large-scale, enterprise-level web solutions with a global impact.
Adept at simplifying complex issues into streamlined, user-centric solutions.
Solid experience with web analytics platforms, using data to inform design and development decisions.
Understanding in Web 3.0 technologies, with a keen understanding of front-end interactivity, including AR/VR, and familiarity with the basics of blockchain, IoT, decentralised networks, and AI.
Comprehensive knowledge and application of SOLID principles, design patterns, and the ability to apply these concepts in practical development scenarios.
Capacity to mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers, fostering a learning environment.
Knowledgeable in deploying cloud-based solutions using AWS and infrastructure as code with Terraform.
Desirable experience with PCI DSS compliant products and understanding the nuances of secure software products.
Skilled in managing multilingual websites on a global scale and experienced with the migration from legacy CMS to modern Headless CMS platforms such as Contentful, Prismic, Sanity, and dotCMS.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced and evolving environment, demonstrating a pragmatic and delivery-focused attitude.
Independent and proactive, with the capacity to take initiative and work autonomously.
Outcome-oriented with meticulous attention to detail and thorough in all aspects of work.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Creative thinker who can generate innovative ideas and facilitate ideation among team members.
Comfortable in bridging the gap between technical and business-focused groups and working with people at all organisational levels.
Openness to assume various roles and responsibilities as needed and a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry trends.
