Service Engineer – Gangway
Key Responsibilities
- Travel internationally and offshore to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair advanced marine and offshore equipment
- Carry out installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance activities at customer sites and onboard vessels
- Provide technical support and fault diagnosis remotely, delivering practical and customer focused solutions
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and system performance assessments to ensure operational reliability
- Support product testing, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver technical training to vessel crews and customer personnel on equipment operation, maintenance, and safety procedures
- Prepare service reports, technical documentation, and recommendations following site visits
- Work independently in the field while collaborating closely with engineering and support teams
- Expect approximately 60% international travel and offshore assignments throughout the year
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Maritime Engineering, or a related discipline
- Ability and willingness to work offshore and travel extensively worldwide
- Willingness to be based outside of Singapore
- Experience on maintenance or troubleshooting of motorised/ hydraulic access gangways is a MUST (At least 5 years)
- Experience or exposure to electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems would be advantageous
- Experience with PLC systems and software would be an advantage
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues
- Hands on approach with a proactive attitude
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Strong communication skills and professional customer interaction
- Good command of spoken and written English
- Capable of working autonomously in remote locations and across different time zones
