We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Service Manager – Older People’s Services to lead, manage and develop Older People’s Social Work Services across Fife.
This is a pivotal leadership role within the Health and Social Care Partnership, responsible for the operational management and delivery of services supporting older people across Fife. You will provide professional leadership to Team Managers, drive a strong performance culture, and ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred services.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing Older People’s Social Work teams across Fife
Providing professional leadership and line management to Team Managers
Driving performance, quality standards and continuous improvement
Leading service redesign and development in response to identified needs
Managing change in partnership with staff, service users, trade unions and key stakeholders
Working collaboratively with partners to deliver integrated services
Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and governance requirements
Managing resources, including staffing and budgets, to deliver efficient services
Representing the Council and Partnership at internal and external forums
As a key member of the HSCP leadership team, you will contribute to strategic planning, support the delivery of local and national priorities, engage with elected members and partners to improve outcomes and develop best practice.
The Person

You will bring:
Managerial experience within a Social Work setting.
Experience of service and resource management.
A relevant Social Work qualification
Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills
Ability to manage complex and competing demands
Experience of leading and managing professional teams
Evidence of supporting staff development
Strong partnership working experience
Experience of leading change and service development
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills
Financial and budget management experience
Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and statutory requirements.
Understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities
Strong IT skills
Desirable
Experience of working at a national level and contributing to best practice
Experience of delivering efficiencies or service improvements
Experience of contributing to change beyond your immediate service area
Experience of working with elected members or non-executive stakeholders
