Service Technician - 2IC

A fantastic opportunity exists for a driven and customer focused applicant to assist with leading our Braeside Service Centre in Victoria. This role is predominately responsible for servicing, testing and repairing a nominated range of products ensuring it confirms with company operating specifications and customer requirements, there is also a component that is responsible for supervising the daily activities of Service Centre to maintain appropriate focus on workflow management, product support and safety.

What will you do?

Day to day tasks include:

  • Coordinating and Performing varied mechanical work involved in repair, maintenance and servicing of turf maintenance related equipment, recycling equipment and tractors using common tools of the trade for Toro Australia’s clients
  • The repair of major systems such as diesel and gasoline fueled engines, hydrostatic transmissions or hydraulic systems are included in this class when performed as part of the total repair to the type of equipment described above.
  • Locating worn, dirty or improperly adjusted parts through visual inspection or through the use of test and diagnostic equipment
  • Removing, repairing and replacing engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical, and other major components, using appropriate tools to safely perform the procedure.

Supervisory responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Service Manager to coordinate day to day activities of the service center and staff in accordance with established systems and procedures
  • Monitoring of all work in progress at in given time in the Service center and ensuring all work is performed to a satisfactory standard
  • Provide leadership, guidance, product support and training for Service technicians
  • Implementation of Service standards, policies and procedures
  • Back filling the role of Service Manager during times of absence
  • Technical service and repair responsibility for the Toro Commercial Equipment products range as directed
  • Requirement to travel within the state the service center is situated for field service duties

What you will need:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to establish effective business relationships with internal and external customers
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of various types of turf equipment, recycling equipment or construction equipment such as tractors, lawn mowers, garden tractors, line trimmers or golf course equipment.
  • Excellent coordinating, leadership and time management skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including parts breakdown drawings and simple electrical schematics
