Shift Supervisor

Job Summary

Lead and manage terminal shift operations to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance while supervising personnel, conducting training, and coordinating emergency responses.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all operational activities during assigned shifts to ensure safe and efficient terminal performance
• Supervise and guide shift personnel to follow operational procedures, safety practices, and quality standards
• Conduct on-the-job training and develop competencies for shift team members to enhance performance
• Enforce strict compliance with approved operating procedures and company policies to maintain operational integrity
• Execute operational directives issued by the Operations Manager or designated authority promptly and accurately
• Maintain clear and effective communication with internal teams and relevant departments to support coordinated operations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shift operations for accountability and reporting
• Perform routine inspections and field patrols to identify and address operational issues proactively
• Oversee terminal safety measures and coordinate emergency response actions to minimize risks
• Act as the first line incident controller during emergencies to manage situations effectively
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping and promptly address equipment defects to maintain operational readiness
• Supervise safe berthing and unberthing operations to protect personnel and assets
• Monitor product custody transfer processes and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Conduct performance evaluations and annual appraisals to support staff development and operational excellence

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma or higher in Chemical, Petrochemical, Engineering, or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in terminal or industrial operations
• Strong understanding of terminal operations and safety systems
