Ship Building and Repairing Supervisor
Job Description
- Supervise and coordinate shipbuilding, ship repair, maintenance, and fabrication works.
- Plan and assign daily work schedules to workers, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Monitor work progress to ensure completion according to project timelines and client requirements.
- Ensure all works are carried out according to drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, shipyard personnel, and contractors.
- Inspect completed works and identify defects, rework requirements, or technical issues.
- Arrange manpower, tools, equipment, and materials required for daily operations.
- Ensure workers comply with workplace safety rules and proper work procedures.
- Prepare daily progress reports, manpower records, and work completion updates.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to ship repair, fabrication, mechanical, or structural works.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and safe working conditions at the worksite.
- Support management in improving work efficiency, quality, and productivity.
Requirements
- Minimum relevant experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine, offshore, or shipyard operations.
- Good knowledge of ship repair, fabrication, fitting, welding, mechanical, or structural works.
- Able to read and understand basic drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications.
- Strong supervisory, leadership, and coordination skills.
- Able to manage workers and coordinate with clients, contractors, and shipyard teams.
- Good understanding of workplace safety requirements in marine or shipyard environments.
- Able to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
