POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Shipping Clerk is the front-facing contact person, maintains all the shipping records, keeps files and papers organized. The ideal candidate will be someone who can work independently and has a very strong attention to detail. Someone who can always communicate effectively while demonstrating a professional demeanor.
JOB DUTIES:
- Maintains records of all outgoing and incoming shipments from and to the warehouse
- Prepare shipping documents, monitor load progress, and validate order accuracy and completion
- Coordinating schedules with stop orders to ensure customer delivery requirements are met
- Proactively communicating of issues and concerns related to truck arrivals, routes and or customers to the appropriate personnel
- Anticipate and trouble shoot problems with deliveries and loading to ensure customer satisfaction
- Answer phones with professional etiquette, schedule inbound deliveries
- Interaction with Plant offices as a backup to print appropriate labels (Cart labels, UPC, Tags, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS and education requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ year experience in shipping, transportation, or logistics
- Knowledge of warehousing, shipping, logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry helpful
- Operated in a team-oriented office atmosphere
- Ability to prioritize/multi-task in all situations, adapt to a heavy and fast paced workload as needed
- Attention to detail and follow-up
- Excellent organizational/interpersonal communication skills
- Working knowledge of transportation and distribution flow
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Product, Word, Excel, Outlook. Willingness to learn any and all programs required (Microsoft NAV, People Soft)
- Follow direction and operating outlines without falter, able to think outside the box when it comes to suggestions or enhancements to processes
- Understanding of truck routes and all concepts that pertain

- Climate controlled office or home office environment
- Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking
- Frequently requires sitting, standing, fine dexterity, and handling
- Occasionally requires walking, climbing stairs, lifting (up to 20lbs), carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching
- Rarely requires climbing
