Shipping Operation
Responsibilities:
Manage daily post-fixture operations and ensure voyage/vessel perform in accordance with Charter Party (C/P) terms.
Manage post-fixture voyage administrative tasks, including nominating/appointing agents, monitoring vessel movements, and preparing/paying freight.
Issue Voyage Orders per documentation instructions; prepare Letters of Indemnity / Delivery Orders to counterparts to ensure timely load/discharge operations.
Communicate with internal/external stakeholders to support, manage, and monitor voyage/vessel movements and efficient turnaround, ensuring cargo load/delivery windows are met.
Check Bills of Lading and loading/discharging documents for timely issuance and verify any discrepancies.
Support the Chartering department in pre-fixture negotiations by providing guidance on port-specific restrictions (especially for chemical trade).
Issue fixture, freight, and charter-hire notes as needed; ensure payments follow C/P terms; update shipment records in system; prepare other required reports.
Prepare, verify, and negotiate demurrage / post-shipment laytime claims and dispute calculations for settlement and voyage closure.
Perform any other ad-hoc activities as required.
Requirements:
Preferably Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime/Nautical studies or related field.
Preferably 2–3 years of relevant working experience in logistics, ship-owning, or brokering offices.
Preferably with experience in chemical tanker operations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese (to liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders on daily operations, issues, instructions, and shipment monitoring).
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Sound commercial awareness; knowledge of different charter parties is an advantage.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Proactive with good problem-solving skills – ability to identify potential issues and propose solutions.
