Site Engineer - Mechanical
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Site Engineer Mechanical to join our team in Wellington, Seaview, supporting the delivery of a key thermal drying plant project.
In this role, you will be instrumental in the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including thermal dryers, conveyors, piping, ducting, and associated plant equipment. You will work closely with project engineers, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on, site-based role where your ability to coordinate subcontractors, manage installation activities, and support commissioning will directly contribute to project success.
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented mechanical site engineer who thrives in a construction environment and is passionate about delivering quality outcomes.
You will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years’ experience in mechanical site engineering within industrial or construction projects
- Proven experience with installation of mechanical equipment, piping systems, ductwork, and structural supports
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, QA processes, and HSE requirements
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing on-site interfaces
- Exposure to pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
- Water, wastewater, or industrial/process plant projects
- Thermal dryers, conveyors, or material handling systems
- Work in brownfield or live operational environments
