We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Site Operations Manager to lead our Major Hazard Facility (MHF) operations in Arndell Park. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing end-to-end transport and warehouse operations within a highly regulated, safety-first environment.
You will play a key role in driving operational excellence, ensuring full compliance with Dangerous Goods and MHF licensing requirements, and leading a high-performing team to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused outcomes.
This role is ideal for a proven operations leader with deep experience in logistics, transport, warehousing, and hazardous materials environments.
Key responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day transport and warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution
- Translate operational plans and customer contracts into actionable delivery outcomes
- Optimise resource allocation across teams, equipment and subcontractors
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, efficiency and cost performance
- Ensure delivery against site financial targets and operational KPIs
Safety & Compliance (HSE/MHF)
- Champion a safety-first culture and lead by example in HSE performance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including Major Hazard Facility (MHF), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and Dangerous Goods regulations
- Oversee risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain emergency response readiness and site safety systems
- Lead HSE improvement plans and drive a zero-harm culture
People Leadership
- Provide strong, visible leadership across transport, warehouse and support teams
- Coach, mentor and develop supervisors, allocators and operators
- Drive engagement, performance management and accountability
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned to company values
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
- Lead customer meetings and ensure delivery against service level agreements (SLAs)
- Proactively identify and implement operational efficiencies
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align daily and strategic priorities
About you
You are a hands-on and commercially minded operations leader with a strong background in logistics and regulated environments.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in logistics, transport and warehouse operations leadership
- Strong knowledge of Dangerous Goods and Major Hazard Facility (MHF) requirements
- Experience managing complex, high-risk operations with strict compliance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with accountability for budgets and performance
- A track record of driving continuous improvement and safety culture
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
Qualifications & requirements
- Experience in hazardous materials / Dangerous Goods operations (essential)
- Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics best practice
- Relevant qualifications in transport, warehousing, logistics or management (preferred)
- Current driver’s licence
