Job Summary
The Construction Site Supervisor coordinates and supervises construction activities on-site, manages workers and subcontractors, monitors progress, enforces safety standards, and ensures quality workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision
- Oversee daily construction activities and workforce operations.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, subcontractors, and laborers.
- Ensure work is performed according to approved plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor project schedules and track progress against milestones.
Safety Management
- Enforce workplace health and safety regulations.
- Conduct site safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Identify and address potential hazards and unsafe work practices.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Quality Control
- Inspect work to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements.
- Resolve on-site technical issues and construction defects.
- Coordinate inspections with consultants and regulatory authorities.
Resource Management
- Schedule labor, equipment, and materials efficiently.
- Monitor material deliveries and inventory levels.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and used properly.
- Control site costs and minimize waste.
Communication & Reporting
- Maintain daily site records and progress reports.
- Communicate project updates to management and stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings and coordinate with engineers, architects, and clients.
- Report delays, incidents, and potential risks promptly.
Qualifications
- Technical qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant construction site supervision experience (typically 3–10 years depending on project size).
- Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in project management and reporting tools.
