Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries’ GF LABS organization drives differentiated technology innovation with a strategic horizon beyond two years. We collaborate closely with our businesses and ecosystem partners to define and execute medium- and long-range R&D programs.

We are seeking a driven executive to serve as the Senior Director for Quantum Systems Enablement. The core vision for this role is to create cryo-CMOS enabled technology platforms, cryogenic test infrastructure, cryogenic design and IP portfolio, and quantum system ecosystem and partnerships required to establish GlobalFoundries as the leading semiconductor partner for scalable quantum systems. The successful candidate will bridge quantum innovation to scalable manufacturing, ultimately making GlobalFoundries the foundry platform of choice for scalable manufacturable quantum systems.

Essential Responsibilities
As the leader of the Quantum Systems Enablement, you will drive integrated capabilities that accelerate quantum innovation and adoption across five key pillars:

  • Cryogenic Design Enablement: Provide customers with a complete cryogenic design ecosystem that enables rapid development and deployment of quantum and cryogenic electronic systems. This involves delivering production-quality Cryo PDKs, advanced Cryo ADKs and Reference Flows, Compact Models and Cryo Simulation, EDA Ecosystem Engagement, and comprehensive Design Adoption and Support.
  • Cyro-Enabled Technology Platforms: Enable differentiated cryogenic CMOS technology platforms for scalable quantum control, readout, and communication systems. This includes overseeing development of production-ready cryogenic CMOS building blocks such as Cryo HV Transistors, Low-Voltage Transistors for VDD scaling and Cryo-Optimized Low-Noise Transistors.
  • High Throughput Cryogenic Test and Characterization: Build automated, high-throughput cryogenic test infrastructure that accelerates characterization, qualification, and customer adoption. Responsibilities span automated cryogenic testing, generating data at scale, utilizing AI-driven analytics for predictive reliability assessment, and establishing a unified data infrastructure as a strategic differentiator.
  • Foundational Cryo IP Development: Build the essential IP blocks for reliable, efficient, and scalable cryogenic systems. This includes developing high-quality, cryo-optimized Analog, Digital, Memory and Mixed-Signal IP to accelerate design cycles, ensure performance, and reduce risk with verified IP.
  • Quantum Systems Co-Design & Application Enablement: Partner with quantum technology developers to co-design optimized qubit, electronics, photonics, and system architectures using GlobalFoundries technologies. The focus will be on customer co-design, modality-specific enablement (silicon spin, superconducting, ion trap, neutral atom, photonic), system architecture optimization and reference demonstrators

Other Responsibilities:

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Expected Salary Range

$198,000.00 - $333,000.00
