Social Media Executive

The Social Media Executive supports the day-to-day execution, coordination, and delivery of social media work across client accounts. This role focuses on ensuring timelines, processes, and content execution are carried out effectively, while building a foundational understanding of strategy, business, and creative requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Client Management

  • Day-to-day client management, maintaining regular contact with clients to ensure communication flows effectively
  • Manage general internal and external communication amongst working team and clients
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of client feedback and effectively translate requirements into actionable next steps
  • Take and manage recurring client social media briefs, ensuring objectives, deliverables and timelines are clearly understood and communicated internally
  • Present content recommendations, plans and social rationale confidently to clients and internal stakeholders

Administrative / Operational

  • Drive and review plans to ensure work is delivered on time and according to standards
  • Plan, coordinate and publish social media content at speed, including resourcing with PMs
  • Ensure all content has appropriate clearances and rights for brand usage
  • Source information and manage asset delivery to support project requirements
  • Manage content calendars, scheduling, publishing and reporting requirements across multiple client accounts
  • Coordinate multiple projects and brands concurrently, ensuring timelines, deliverables and approvals are managed effectively
  • Support reporting requirements and track performance against campaign objectives
  • Monitor social, platform and cultural trends to identify opportunities for content development and brand participation

Business

  • Understand the basics of scoping of work, mapping of resource requirements and budgets
  • Implement work processes to ensure smooth executions and delivery of costed scope of work
  • Understand client business objectives and ensure social content recommendations align with broader marketing and communication goals
  • Stay informed on developments within clients' industries and businesses

Creative

  • Interpret client briefs and develop clear social content briefs for internal creative teams
  • Manage content creation in all aspects, providing feedback on copywriting, guidance on creative assets, and recommendations on cadence
  • Review creative work against client requirements to ensure briefs have been met
  • Be aware of and appreciate effective and bold creative work
  • Partner with creative teams to develop social-first content ideas and executions
  • Facilitate and contribute to brainstorming and ideation sessions with creative, strategy and account teams
  • Translate social trends, audience insights and client objectives into creative springboards and content opportunities
  • Coordinate content production including pre-production planning, shoot preparation, production logistics and post-production asset management
  • Support and oversee content shoots where required, ensuring production requirements and deliverables are met

Job Specifications

Knowledge and Experience

  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in social media / digital / content
  • Basic understanding of social platforms, content workflows and campaign execution
  • Good understanding of platforms — latest digital and social platforms, channels and formats
  • Knowledgeable around platform features, content formats and social media best practices
  • Basic understanding of structuring social projects and teams
  • Experience supporting social content planning, publishing, reporting and content production processes is advantageous
