Job Summary: As an SDE-II, you will design and build high-performance services that power mission-critical ad delivery, targeting, and measurement systems across JioStar's platform. You will operate at the intersection of scale, reliability, and real-time decisioning - supporting live sports, premium entertainment, and personalized experiences for millions of users. This is a high-ownership, high-impact role best suited for engineers passionate about building for scale and business impact.

About the Team: Content Commerce is a new and high-impact bet for JioHotstar. The team will build the technology that powers commerce experiences across JioHotstar’s content surfaces.The platform will bring together content understanding, product catalogues, contextual recommendations, interactive placements, transaction journeys, attribution, and partner integrations. It will support experiences ranging from products featured within entertainment content to merchandise, brand activations, and contextual commerce during live sports.

Reporting To: Engineering Manager

Key responsibilities:
● Build robust, secure, and scalable microservices to power JioStar applications

● Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using best practices, conduct unit testing and participate in code reviews
● Ensure sub-second server response times and implement appropriate data stores - relational, document, key-value, object, or graph - as well as index stores and messaging systems
● Take ownership of running and maintaining cloud infrastructure
● Continuously evaluate relevant technologies and influence architecture and design discussions

● Collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deploy high-quality software solutions that meet business objectives

● Guide and mentor junior engineers and interns on functional and domain areas

Skills and attributes for success:

● Proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python

● Experience building distributed domain-driven microservices

● Strong understanding of database and storage fundamentals

● Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), messaging systems (Kafka), and CI/CD pipelines
● Experience working on large-scale production systems, with a strong focus on performance and reliability is a plus
● Ability to translate ambiguous product requirements into well-structured, scalable technical solutions

Preferred education and experience:

● Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or a related field with 2-4 years of experience in backend development
