Software Engineer I

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Focuses on learning the craft and how to work in a team productively, in particular:

  • Assist in developing, testing, and maintaining AI/ML-based software solutions
  • Implement machine learning models using established frameworks and libraries
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Support data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
  • Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices
  • Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams
  • Debug and resolve basic software and model performance issues
  • Contribute to AI projects aligned with roadmap initiatives
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Java
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, model evaluation)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
  • Experience with version control systems (Git)

Additions for service-delivering teams

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, or GCP)
  • Basic knowledge of REST APIs and microservices
  • Familiarity with SQL and data handling
  • Internship or academic project experience in AI/ML
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Abstains from premature optimization.
  • Understands company and team visions.
  • Actively seeks support by team members to overcome obstacles.
  • Autonomously performs small refactorings to improve local software quality.

The Annual salary range for this position is $ 74,576.88 - $ 108,211.55 USD.

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
