<\/span><\/div>The Level 2 Software Engineer\n(SWE) shall possess the following capabilities:<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and\nperformance requirements<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Debug existing software and correct defects<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Provide recommendations for improving documentation and\nsoftware development process standards<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Design and code new software or modify existing\nsoftware to add new features<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Integrate existing software into new or modified\nsystems or operating environments<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed\ndatabases or data repositories<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Write or review software and system documentation<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the\nsoftware development process being used on any particular project<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Design or implement complex database or data repository\ninterfaces/queries<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed\nsystem performance and functional standards<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Assist with developing and executing test procedures\nfor software components<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Develop software solutions by analyzing system\nperformance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work\nprocesses; and investigate problem areas<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to\nnew hardware, or to improve its performance<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Design, develop and modify software systems, using\nscientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of\ndesign<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Design or implement complex algorithms requiring\nadherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team\nproducts<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Implement recommendations for improving documentation\nand software development process standards<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Oversee one or more software development teams and\nensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development\nprocess being used on any particular project<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to\nderive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities,\nperformance requirements and interfaces<\/span>
<\/span><\/li>- Coordinate software system installation and monitor\nequipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met<\/span>

<\/span><\/span><\/div>- Eight\n(8) years of experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope,\ntype, and complexity is required. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/li>- Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science or related\ndiscipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years\nof additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be\nsubstituted for a bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
