Software Engineer (LABVIEW)
Our company is collaborating closely with a prestigious public listed organisation in Singapore. In line with our dynamic expansion of projects, we are looking for a driven and capable Software Engineer (LabVIEW) to join our Electrical Measurement Department (EMD) within our calibration laboratory. This is a newly created role to strengthen our test automation capabilities and ensure the long-term sustainability of our LabVIEW-based systems.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot existing LabVIEW applications used in calibration systems.
- Develop new test automation software to replace legacy code and improve operational efficiency.
- Support integration of software with measurement instruments and hardware systems via NI platforms and LAN-based communication protocols.
- Diagnose and resolve system issues related to software, instrumentation, and data acquisition.
- Work closely with engineers within the Electrical Measurement Department to understand requirements and deliver robust solutions.
- Ensure proper documentation of software design, updates, and system configurations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of automation processes within the lab environment.
Requirements:
- BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering discipline;
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in software development, preferably using LabVIEW in a test, measurement, or engineering environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in test automation, data acquisition, and instrument control.Familiarity with National Instruments (NI) hardware (e.g., PXI, DAQ) and/or communication protocols (LAN, SCPI, etc.).
- Experience maintaining and improving legacy systems is highly advantageous.
- Basic understanding of calibration processes or metrology concepts is a plus.
- Exposure to other programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++) is beneficial for system integration.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Detail-oriented with good documentation practices.
