Software Engineer Manager, Google Cloud Business Platform

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead the incentives workstream and enhance existing systems within the Google Cloud Business Platform (GCBP). Adopting an AI-first approach, you will solve complex, cross-functional business problems and collaborate with UX, Product Managers, and operations teams. This role offers exposure to Google's technology stacks and user flows in a dynamic environment.
You will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, and develop your team across the areas like AI, natural language processing, and large-scale system design. Operating with speed and scale, you will guide exceptional engineers in delivering impactful software solutions.

- Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
- Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
- Develop the technical direction and roadmap within the scope of the team. Evolve the roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Design, guide and vet systems designs within the scope of the broader area, and work closely with the team to solve ambiguous problems.
- Manage and deliver the life-cycle of projects spanning across planning, design, execution and launch.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, Golang, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
Preferred qualifications:
- 7 years of experience building and developing scaled infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage (spanner, bigquery).
- 5 years of experience with design and architecture, and testing or launching software product.
- Experience of building products using GenAI/Large Language Models (LLMs).
