- 5-7 years - Broad experience in translating business and functional requirements into technical specifications and developing the programming code to create the solutions.
- 8-10 years - Proven experience in modern engineering practices i.e. dev ops, agile etc., Proven experience across multiple, broad IT Engineering disciplines, with demonstrated specialisation in at least one. Experience within the required scope of expertise.
Skills Required:
- Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure (AWS):
- Deep understanding of modern elastic cloud architecture patterns.
- Solid grasp of cloud networking fundamentals.
- Requirement: Relevant AWS accreditation/certification required to operate within the Standard Bank Group (SBG) AWS environment.
- Preferred: Knowledge of SBG cloud architecture standards is a strong plus.
- Systems & Environment:
- Proficient with Linux-based operating systems and core system administration basics.
- Strong command-line comfort, including writing, debugging, and running scripts.
- Software Development & Integration:
- Language: Strong Python programming skills and a working knowledge of the Python data ecosystem.
- APIs & Design: Expertise in building and consuming APIs (REST/GraphQL) alongside a solid understanding of system design and integration patterns.
- Data & Containerization:
- Databases: Strong proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Containers: Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker).
