The Opportunity

We have a new opportunity for a Solicitor or Senior Associate to join our band 1 ranked Competition, Regulation and Trade practice in Melbourne.

Under the leadership of Partners Sarah Benbow and Jared Peut, you will work with leading domestic and international organisations across the full spectrum of competition, consumer law and regulatory work, including cartel and behavioural investigations, litigation, merger clearances, and regulatory advice.

As an integrated national team, you will also work closely with Sydney Partners Linda Evans, Liza Carver, Patrick Gay, Patrick Clark and Stephanie Panayi, providing unparalleled learning and career development opportunities.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leading private practice firm or relevant regulator experience in Australia.

  • In-depth experience in competition law and a keen interest in developing your expertise with the new merger control regime.

  • An excellent academic record, and genuine commitment to continuous learning.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for supervising and developing junior Solicitors.

  • An ability to work to tight time frames, collaboratively and at times autonomously.

  • A commitment to client service, and genuine interest in building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the growth of the practice.

  • An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies.
