Location\: Warton, Samlesbury, Frimley, Yeovil or Towcester, Hybrid, 3 days per week on site

Job Description\:

As a Solution Architect, you'll play a key role within the Architecture Practice, supporting the design and delivery of technology solutions that enable business growth across the Air Sector.

Working across a diverse range of programmes and stakeholders, you'll provide architectural guidance throughout the solution lifecycle, ensuring designs align with business requirements, technical standards and enterprise architecture principles. You'll support design reviews, manage technical risks and act as a trusted advisor to technical teams, helping to deliver secure, scalable and supportable solutions.

Core duties\:

  • Produce and review technical documentation to support solution design, deployments, changes and operational activities
  • Define and maintain technical requirements and acceptance criteria for solution deployments and enhancements
  • Support architecture and design reviews, ensuring solutions are sufficiently mature to progress through delivery stages
  • Identify and manage technical risks, supporting the resolution of technical issues and challenges
  • Provide architectural guidance and technical advice across business functions, programmes and delivery teams
  • Participate in incident, problem and root cause analysis reviews, driving continuous improvement activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with technical specialists, architects and key stakeholders across the business

Essential Skills\:

  • Relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working within an IT function, Architecture Practice or similar technical environment
  • Experience supporting technical design, solution development or architecture activities within complex environments
  • Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or equivalent methodologies
  • Experience of software development lifecycle governance and technical assurance activities
  • Knowledge of integration technologies, processes and solution delivery approaches
  • Experience applying secure-by-design principles or equivalent security-focused design practices

The Architecture Practice supports the design and delivery of technology solutions across the Air Sector, providing architectural expertise, governance and technical leadership across a wide range of programmes. Working within a multidisciplinary architecture community, the team helps shape technology direction, manage technical risk and ensure solutions are aligned to both business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
