Orlando Health Emergency Room - Pinellas Park, a service of Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, serves the Pinellas Park residents with expert and compassionate care 24 hours a day, seven days a week. And for severe trauma cases, immediate air transport is available to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, the only state-accredited Level II Adult Trauma Center in Pinellas County.
Staffed by board certified emergency medicine physicians and an expertly trained clinical team, the ER offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. This 11,400-square-foot facility features eight patient rooms and provides state-of-the-art services, technologies and care for all members of your family – from infants and children, to teens and adults.
This emergency department is part of Bayfront Hospital and the Orlando Health system of care, which includes award-winning hospitals and ERs, specialty institutes, urgent care centers, primary care practices and outpatient facilities that span Florida’s east to west coasts.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
- Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
- Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures.
- Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
- Adheres to Orlando Health mission statement and commitment to excellence standards.
- Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
- Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history and ensures accurate documentation.
- Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
- Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
- Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
- Administers medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
- Applies appropriate standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
- Assists in supervising student sonographers.
- Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Ensures the safety of all customers.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Other Related Functions:
- Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Maintains well-stocked and organized work areas.
- Works at any facility as required by operational needs or organizational demands.
- Provides patient transport.
Qualifications
Education/Training:
- Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.
Licensure/Certification:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer(RDMS)registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
Experience:
- Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, and breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography.
